The Hino 2011 model year began in January with the introduction of the first 2010 EPA emission compliant medium duty Hino commercial trucks - redesigned 268 (Class 6) and 338 (Class 7) models.

In addition to a new exterior redesign, the new Hino commercial trucks for sale are also powered by six-cylinder JO5E series diesel engines rated from 175 to 260 hp for Class 4-7 conventional Hino trucks. The Hino JO5E diesel commercial truck engine family is equipped with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) after-treatment systems to meet 2010 diesel emissions standards, with 13% diesel engine torque increase over the 2010 models engines.

In commercial trucking, SCR technology is the most environmentally friendly and cost-effective method to reduce diesel commercial truck engine emissions to near-zero levels.
